Is it true that Pakistan is banning VPNs?

Is it accurate to say that there is a rumor going around these days that the state is thinking about banning VPNs?
Is it even feasible? due to the fact that the Play Store has dozens of them.
And why can’t the VPN developers create their apps in a way that allows them to get past even the most advanced firewalls?
And from what I’ve heard, if they succeed, it would certainly prevent the nation’s fledgling tech industry from gaining a firm grip. which, incidentally, already supports a large number of lives.
Is this kind of misguided, paranoid action from the government going to be met with severe opposition from society, or am I being overly optimistic?

Your activity is hidden from your internet service provider (PTCL, Nayatel, Stormfiber, etc.) when you use a VPN. Therefore, your internet service provider is aware that you are using a VPN even if they are unable to observe all of your activity.
This is irrelevant if your government doesn’t really care that you use a VPN, but if they make it illegal and ENFORCE it (because PTA stated years ago that you should “register your VPN”), then using a VPN is not advised. In response to your inquiry, the government need just enact legislation mandating that internet service providers notify them of VPN users.

For instance, if you download illegal information in Germany at this time without using a VPN, your ISP will first send you a warning letter requesting that you remove the offending file (which they will name) or risk paying a fine the next time.

No Vpn in Pakistan
