This is reminiscent of a similar decision made by Samsung with their tablets, where only the Galaxy Tab S9+ and S9 Ultra variants were released in 2023 instead of the regular Galaxy Tab S9. It appears that Samsung is prepared to follow suit with its S series smartphones.
With the cancellation of the ordinary Galaxy S26, only the Galaxy S26+ and S26 Ultra are expected to appear, maybe in January 2026. This stated modification coincides with heightened rivalry from Chinese producers who are purportedly preparing to launch more compact, high-end gadgets.
Against this competition, the Galaxy S25 might find it difficult, and the S26 might be even more susceptible. Although Ice Universe, the source of this report, has a history of being largely trustworthy, they have a history of exaggerating, thus this information should be regarded with care.
