Live images of the Samsung Galaxy S25+ have been released, leading to conjecture on a noteworthy design element. Some have speculated that the slightly recessed area beneath the side buttons might be a Camera Control button, similar to the tiny touchpad found on the most recent iPhone models. But a more useful answer has emerged. Although X’s initial post has been taken down, the model number in the pictures suggests that the leak is authentic.
Given that the model number SM-S936U implies that this is a US device version, the recessed part is most likely the mmWave 5G antenna. This model would need the antenna to handle the fast mmWave 5G network in the US, just like the SM-S926U (Galaxy S24+). In order to make the design work, manufacturers usually position these antennas in this manner.
Apart from one particular element, the Galaxy S25+’s overall design seems to be very similar to that of its predecessor. The Galaxy S25+ appears to have the S24 series’ more straightforward look, in contrast to the S25 Ultra, which is said to have bigger, more noticeable rings surrounding the camera lenses. According to leaks, there won’t be any major camera improvements made to the standard Galaxy S25 and S25+.
The Galaxy S25 series will probably be unveiled by Samsung in January 2025, following its customary schedule. More information regarding the features, designs, and possible enhancements of the devices will become available as the launch date draws closer.
