In the battle against tuberculosis, Pakistan takes home the top international award

With the top international honor in the sector, Pakistan has gained international recognition for its efforts to battle tuberculosis.
For their exceptional contributions to TB control efforts, Dr. Jane Carter of the United States and Dr. Razia Fatima of Pakistan were recognized.
Thousands of medical experts and scientists from around the world attended the World Conference on Lung Health in Bali, Indonesia, where the prize was given out.

The award was accepted on Tuesday by Dr. Razia Fatima, the National Coordinator and chief researcher for Pakistan’s Common Management Unit (CMU) for TB.

Since this is the first time a Pakistani national has received this honor, it represents a historic accomplishment. In addition to receiving praise from all over the world for her efforts, Dr. Razia was recently chosen to chair the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease’s TB division.

The scientific community and Pakistani citizens in Indonesia celebrated the news, praising Dr. Razia’s achievements and Pakistan’s contribution to the fight against global health issues.
