CM Punjab Launches Girls’ College Pink Buses

Transport Program for Women with 76 buses for girls colleges across Punjab

Punjab With 76 buses for female colleges throughout Punjab, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif launched the Chief Minister Transport Program for Women.
Phase I of the initiative provided women’s colleges with nineteen buses. During a ceremony on Monday, the CM was introduced to the women’s college students, who gave her a bouquet. As she launched the transportation program, she brought the students to the platform and gave the principals of the 19 women’s institutions the bus keys.
After looking over the vehicles, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz assessed the idea of giving females’ colleges air-conditioned buses. Dr. Farrukh Naveed, the secretary of higher education, gave her an update on the initiative.

The CM was apprised that buses would be provided to 76 colleges in Punjab in three phases.

Pink Buses Routes

In the first phase, buses have been delivered to 19 tehsils deprived of transit. Bhakkar, Sialkot, Chiniot Kamalia, Hasilpur, Malakwal, Ferozewala, Shorekot, Jatoi, Fateh Jang, Hasan Abdal, Kot Momin, Jalalpur Pirwala, Kallar Syedan, Pindi Ghep, Manchanabad, and Sharqpur are among of the tehsils that comprise these.

In the subsequent stage, buses would be provided to the female colleges in Nowshera Virkan, Dina, Yazman, Pindi Bhattian, Lalian, Bhawana, Kot Addu, Taxila, Sarai Alamgir, and Pelaan. By February 2025, buses will also be provided to Raiwind, Sohawa Girls College, Isa Khel, and Allama Iqbal Town in Lahore.

In the third phase, which would take place by March–April 2025, 35 additional tehsils would receive 2 more buses and 32 coaches. Minister of Information and Culture Azma Zahid Bukhari, Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Minister of Education Rana Sikandar Hayat, and Senator Pervaiz Rashid, and MPA Sania Ashiq accompanied the Chief Minister. The Chief Secretary of Punjab, the Principal Secretary to the CM, and other relevant officers were also present.
