Arshad Nadeem will feature in the Javelin Throw Finals on 8 August

The men’s javelin throw final is set to happen in the Stade de France in Paris on August 8. Neeraj’s 87.58-meter throw earned him the title of Olympic champion in Tokyo 2020. With a throw of 84.62 meters, 27-year-old Arshad Nadeem placed fifth in that competition.

Arshad Nadeem Storms Into Paris Olympics Final

Pakistani athlete Arshad Nadeem qualified for the final round of the Paris Olympics 2024 men’s javelin throw contest on Tuesday. I sincerely hope that this encourages others to pursue their passions in a variety of disciplines! Swimming, gymnastics, track, and athletics. Athletes essentially have to give up their entire life in order to reach their ideal level of fitness, and very few succeed! Here’s to everyone out there trying to improve their time or distance!

Arshad Nadeem Career:

In 2015, Arshad Nadeem began participating in javelin throw competitions. As a result of his World Athletics scholarship, he was able to train at the IAAF High Performance Training Centre in Mauritius in 2016.

Nadeem earned the bronze medal at the Guwahati, India, South Asian Games in February 2016. In the athletics event, he recorded a personal best of 78.33 meters in addition to the national record.

Nadeem took home the bronze at the 17th Asian Junior Athletics Championship, which took place in Ho Chi Minh City in June 2016.

At the Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku in May 2017, Nadeem’s best throw of 76.33 meters earned him a bronze medal. In the qualification round of the javelin throw event in April 2018, he finished eighth at the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia, setting a new personal best of 80.45 meters. He also suffered a back issue after the 2018 Commonwealth Games concluded. He won a bronze medal in August 2018 in Jakarta, Indonesia, where he also set a new national record and personal best with a distance of 80.75 meters.

Nadeem set a new national record and personal best with a distance of 81.52 meters at the 2019 World Athletics Championships in Doha, Qatar, where he was the lone athlete from Pakistan. Nadeem broke the national record in November 2019 when he won gold for WAPDA at the 33rd National Games in Peshawar, Pakistan, with a throw of 83.65 meters. At the 13th South Asian Games in Nepal in December 2019, he set a new games record with a throw of 86.29 meters, earning him a gold medal.

Nadeem competed in the 2020 Summer Olympics, held in 2021, for the first time, representing Pakistan. By completing this, he made history as the first track and field athlete from Pakistan to earn an Olympic spot. According to his father, Nadeem did not even have access to a decent training facility before going to the Olympics. After making it to the Tokyo Olympics, Nadeem trained in the streets and courtyard of his own home and is thought not to have received any financial support from the Pakistani government.

He cleared the qualifying round for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in the men’s javelin throw event on August 4, 2021. In the annals of Olympic track and field, he became the first Pakistani to reach the championship round in any discipline. After throwing a javelin 84.62 meters, he came in fifth place for the men.

Terseus Liebenberg, the world athletic coach, oversaw Nadeem’s preparation in South Africa from March 2022 until the world championships began. The Pakistani Athletics Federation organized the training.
As the only competitor from Pakistan, Nadeem took part in the 2022 World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon, USA, in July of 2022. He threw 86.16 meters to place fifth in the final.

Only guy who went to Olympics on merit and it straight away produced a final. He needs to do better than his competition. In his group chopra has an 89, Peters has an 88 and he has a 86. He hit above 90 in 2022 (being the only south Asian to do so) so it still can go either way but we can expect a bronze medal.

Group A: Weber 87.7 Yego 85.97

Group B: Chopra 89.3 Peters 88.63 Nadeem 86.59
