The YU7 SUV is Xiaomi’s Next Electric Vehicle. Launching in 2025

After the success of the SU7 sedan, Xiaomi plans to release the YU7 SUV, its second electric car, in the summer of 2025. With competitors like Tesla’s Model Y, YU7 hopes to compete in the electric SUV market. Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun claims that before the car’s formal debut in June or July 2025, it is going through a rigorous testing process to guarantee good quality.
According to China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) regulatory documents, the YU7 has a wheelbase of 3,000 mm and dimensions of 4,999 mm in length, 1,996 mm in width, and 1,600 mm in height.

It has a maximum speed of 253 kilometers per hour and weighs 2,405 kilos. The SUV’s two electric motors can produce up to 386 horsepower at the back and 295 horsepower up front.
A Li-ion ternary battery provided by CATL powers the powertrain; however, its capacity has not yet been made public.
As part of Xiaomi EV’s aggressive EV expansion, the YU7 will be produced at the company’s Yizhuang, Beijing, factory. Public input is being gathered before to final approvals, and its presence in the MIIT catalog indicates that it has successfully completed a major regulatory obstacle.

With the YU7, Xiaomi is well-positioned to meet the rising demand for environmentally friendly transportation while solidifying its place in the cutthroat electric car market.
