The price of MS gasoline and High-Speed Diesel (HSD) is predicted to decrease this week as a result of a drop in global oil prices.
On August 15, 2024, the federal government is anticipated to lower the price of gasoline and diesel by Rs. 8.5–9.3 and Rs. 9 per liter, respectively.
The lower estimate is based on the global prices of crude oil, gasoline, and HSD, which fell to $91, $84, and $82 per barrel in the last two weeks, respectively. Notably, during the period under consideration, the value of the Pakistani rupee stayed steady at 278.
In light of the aforementioned, it is anticipated that HSD will soon cost Rs. 263.7 per liter in Pakistan. MS prices are predicted to drop to between Rs. 260 and Rs. 261 a liter in the interim.
The government reduced the price of gasoline by Rs. 6.17 per liter to Rs. 269.43 during the preceding two weeks. In the meantime, the cost of a liter of diesel was dropped by Rs. 10.86 to Rs. 272.77.
